Hello all you Falcon Fans
We've got just about six weeks to the start of practice, and we don't have alot of Midget football players signed up at this juncture.
Some of you received notification yesterday- 6/14 regarding the status of Midget Football. After further discussion, we've decided to continue to hold open the Midget program and double down on our recruitment efforts.
To that end, I need your help in spreading the word on Midget football. Here's the deal:
1. Unlimited weight for seventh and eighth graders . They do not need to step on a scale at the beginning, during, or end of the season (don't we all wish we could avoid the scale like that!) Ninth graders weight limit is 165.
2. Five of our eight football leagues in New England are fielding teams at this level- we have a real chance of some great football playoffs.
3. Great Falcon coaching-we typically have a coach/player ratio of 1 coach to every five Falcon players. What an opportunity to learn football prior to entering the High School program.
We'll hold open the doors as long as possible- if you know folks with big kids who want to play, have them send Dave or me an email to start the process of getting registered- president@nffalcons.org, commissioner@nffalcons.org.
We are less than 90 days away from the start of our 2010 Season. We have nearly 300 children registered to cheer and play some football.
Please consider assisting us in a couple of key positions-not full time stuff, but a good way to get involved with the Board, and help out the organization.
1. Photo Day coordinator- You'll ask for and receive bids for our Photo Day- review with the Board and select the best candidate. On the day(s) of the photos, you'll coordinate with the vendor and the teams to get the kids through "Picture Day". Then, you are done!
2. Events Coordinator- Assist with our various dances/pasta nites to obtain facilities and coordinate volunteers to help run those events. This year, the events coordinator will help out with one or two pasta nights (for the cheerleaders), and perhaps the Halloween dance.
3. Snack Shack assistant- We'll need someone who is willing to help out with the management of this important fundraising function.
Our needs for your time are many- you've seen (or will see for our first year folks) that Home game days represent a monster effort on dozens of our parents and guardians. I greatly appreciate all our volunteers and the many hours they have spent to make the Falcon Experience a great one for our kids.

KICK-OFF CHEER CAMP 2010
July 27, 28 and 29th 9:30 to 3:30
3 days of cheer, motions, jumps, tumbling and stunting and dance. This camp is for every level, Novice to Advance. We offer something for everyone.
Cost is 150.00 for the 3 days.
Must pre-register, a minimum of 50 campers required to hold the camp.

Dear Players and Parents, It is with great enthusiasm that we invite you to the 2nd Annual Rebels Football Camp! Join us at New Fairfield High School beginning Monday, July 12th. Be prepared to have fun learning the game of football.
These three days will be filled with opportunities to become skilled at different positions. Passing, receiving, tackling, and running drills are just a few of the areas that will be focused on to make you a superior player. At the end of each day you will have the chance to showcase your newly learned skills by participating in flag football games. Participants will be provided a camp t-shirt, but will need to bring cleats, shorts, shirts, water bottle and lunch. Snacks and Gatorade will be provided each day.

Football Registration is still open! New registrations for Mitey Mite, Jr. Pee Wee and Midget levels are still being accepted. Interested parties should register on-line by clicking on the league one link above.
New registrations for Tiny Mite, Pee Wee, and Jr. Midget levels are being accepted and placed on a waiting list pending creation of 2 teams or player drops. Players interested are strongly enocuraged to register on-line at leagueone through the link below. No payment or hard copy paperwork is required until the player has been accepted on to a team.

This year, our League will continue the Midget Football program started in 2009 with unlimited weights. This will allow all of next year's seventh and eighth graders the opportunity to play football with the Falcons before they move on to High School. We did not have a Midget team last year and we hope that getting the word out on the modified weight scheme will get more boys out on the field for 2010 to play for the Midgets.
